The Flirty Apron.....

Since Mothers Day is tomorrow, I thought I would share with you one of the gifts that I made.  This one is for my future sister-in-law, who is also my daughters god mother.  It is the flirty apron! I followed the tutorial from The Dating Divas.  This was a lot of fun to make and it turned out beautifully!

I knew I was going to make her an apron so I went on a search through multiple blogs and Pinterest to find the perfect one, with understandable instructions.  The Flirty Apron has a modern and girly twist that fit her personality perfectly.

I headed off to Joanns to find fabric.  I instantly grabbed the paisley, it has so many bright cheery colors in it.  Then the pockets were from a fat quarter i spotted and brought out the oranges and reds in the paisley print.  Lastly was the ruffle color.  I chose aqua to compliment the pocket color.  I was originally going to make the straps in aqua but when I got home, I remembered I had this cream with gold sparkle fabric and it matched too perfectly to not include it!!!

I followed the very easy to read tutorial and used a supermarket circular for the pattern.  I changed the pocket because I didn't want a big block of the red-orange fabric in the middle of the apron.  I simply drew out the shape of the pocket I wanted, layed it on the apron and adjusted.

I love it! I think I might make another one for myself.  This took me about one to two hours to complete.  And she loved it!

If you've made this apron or a similar one, I would love for you to share photos! Thanks!!

Happy mothers day!!!!!!!
